West Side Arts
I am in a special musical group called the SAMBA Percussion Group (SAMBA for short). On Tuesday 15th of April a lady came to audition us for a big performance at Hamer Hall in Melbourne, called West Side Arts. On the 29th of April we found out if we made it or not. Everyone was nervous when our music teacher said we made it!!! Everyone involved is very excited.
On Monday the 26th of May the people involved in the group went to Hamer Hall during the day to get ready and have our sound check. At night time we came back for the big performance. We went in and watched half of the show and at interval time we left and went to our dressing room to change into our SAMBA T-shirts. We also practiced once more before we went on stage. We finally got called and we were more nervous than ever, but we were ready. When we got on stage and started playing I was so happy to be there performing. I was a little sad when it was over, but it was fun while it lasted. I really hope I am in SAMBA again next year and I really, REALLY hope I get be at this event again next year too.
